SYD
Through my time as Creative Director of the SYD Youth Dance Company I have seen so many amazing kids blossom into well-rounded and confident adults.
One of the beautiful things about this community, is that it is truly like a family. Everyone that joins our company graduates with lifelong friends and skills that they will carry with them into their adult lives.
This year, I want to focus on building bridges between generations, bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to the table, collaborate with the dancers to create new works and pus the kids outside their comfort zones.

TUNING INTO THE JUKEBOX OF MYSELF [2022]
Choreographed by Chess Dillon-Reams
Who are we today? Who will we be tomorrow?
We are young,
We are discovering who we are,
We make connections;
with our families, our friends, our teachers…our fellow company members.
We discover our voices, our likes and dislikes, our individual quirks…and then we find our freedom. This is ours. This is our freedom.
We have a shared enjoyment of movement; it is our space to feel liberation, connection, to let go and have fun.
Jukebox play and then
We Dance.
